Hero WODs are a rarity in the CrossFit programming; they come but once in a blue moon. The workout today is the “Seven” and it’s dedicated to 7 CIA agents who were killed in the line of duty in Afghanistan on December 30th, 2010. These workouts are not necessarily done for time, but more for remembrance and homage. When the going gets tough, remember what is important – it’s not the time that matters, but rather that you gave it your all.
This year marks 12 years since the 9/11 attacks. Like The JFK assassination for our parents and the Pearl Harbor attack for our grandparents, everyone can recall where they were and what they were doing on that day.
Each new hero workout represents more fatalities. The list grows every month and as a veteran myself, I feel indebted to these fallen men and women. Please take a moment before the WOD on 9/11 to appreciate the sacrifice that these men and women have made.
