The Sanitas Core Challenge

March was an inspiring month watching all of you get in your extra burpees each day. Kathleen and Ashley left everyone in the dust breaking over 1,000 burpees in 31 days. Kathleen is the overall winner and gets a free 60-minute massage for her badass effort!

For the core challenge this month we are going to be focusing on bracing, stability, and developing a well-rounded trunk. This will not only make you feel good, but also help to reduce injury risk to the lumbar spine.

DO I NEED TO REGISTER?

Nope!

OKAY, SO HOW DO I PARTICIPATE THEN?

Every day during the month of April, there will be a specific workout added to the end of each Main WOD that will be all about the core strength and stability.

An example would be 4 rounds of:

  • 1min weighted plank
  • 20 bird-dogs
  • 30sec tuck hollow hold

The seconds accumulated will equal reps. If you follow along and try to hit at least 4 days of the core workouts during the challenge you will see a huge improvement in your ability to brace during squats, pull from the floor, etc.

WHAT’S THE GOAL?

The goal of this challenge is to accumulate as many reps as possible within the confines of the workouts and accessory lifts prescribed. We will target all aspects of the core from the hips all the way up through the lats!

CAN I START ANYTIME?

Yup! Start any time during the month. Since the goal is just to accumulate the most reps, it doesn’t matter when you start. But the sooner the better!

HOW DO I TRACK MY SCORE?

Each day in Wodify, you’ll see a section to post your scores labeled “Sanitas Core Challenge April 1”, “…April 2” “…April 3” etc. Log your results here or else they will not count in the challenge! If you’re doing something other than what’s suggested, still record your reps there

*Note* You must hit the RX button for your score to show up on the leaderboard. Even if you did not RX what’s written, hit the button anyway.

HOW DO I WIN?

The athlete with the most reps logged in Wodify between April 1st – April 30th will be the winner! For this challenge, the winner gets a free 60-minute massage!
