Do I Have Scoliosis and What are the Treatments

Scoliosis is defined as an abnormal lateral curvature of the vertebral column. In addition to this one primary C curve, there is usually a secondary compensatory S curve. Most of the time it is characterized by a rotational curve that moves into the anterior/posterior plane. These rotational curves cause a great amount of muscle imbalance in the core and extremities of the body. Most of the time these muscle imbalances are the root cause of compensation patterns and movement dysfunction.

How Can Massage Help Scoliosis

Therapeutic Massage Therapy can help eliminate the symptoms and causes of scoliosis by restoring the balance in the pelvis, treating the muscles that are causing the curve/rotation in the spine.

If you were not born with scoliosis then chances are the causes of your condition are going be environmental. This means that posture, movement patterns, and ergonomics are going to play a big role in your spinal curve.
