CrossFit Kids (3-10 y/o): Next Session January 8

crossfit-09-16-16-jgp-0017Why should parents and teens have all the fun? Kids of all ages love CrossFit! Introduce your kiddos to the joys of CrossFit in a safe, low-pressure, fun-filled environment that will get your kids moving, build coordination, strength and self-confidence, and forge new friendships.

We’ll meet your kids right where they are and introduce them to the fundamentals of CrossFit – obstacle courses, rope swings, box jumps, burpees, wall balls, toes-to-rings, sled pulls, you name it. At this age, children build strength, stamina and coordination leveraging familiar movements while learning new tricks. This class is perfect for those who want to build overall conditioning for a specific sport, or those that are still searching for their sport.

Meet Your Coach

Jaala has been participating in, or coaching sports her entire life. Growing up as a swimmer and a runner, she ended up competing as a D1 scholarship athlete in both sports at the University of New Mexico. As a United States Peace Corps Volunteer, she coached swimming in the Olympic Training system in China, and then coached track and volleyball in Micronesia.

CrossFit came into her life in 2008. Through the years, she has competed as an individual at Regionals (Southwest 2010, Asia 2011), used CrossFit as a training method for endurance sports, coached, and even owned her own CrossFit gym. Jaala thanks CrossFit for introducing her to her husband too; she met him while she was on a teaching fellowship in Central Asia.

Besides coaching CrossFit, Jaala currently teaches pre-kindergarten and is working on a second Master’s degree, this time in Early Childhood Education. Outside of the gym, Jaala loves to do any endurance event longer than 12 hours, rock climb with her husband, and spend time with her dog, Carmen.
